What changed this check
Laurarium’s September 19 baseline check covered 22 isopod containers across 16 library cultures plus Paisley’s Mix. The strongest growth signals came from Citrus and Flowery Blue; Red Tiger and Red Pak Chong were the two priority cultures. Orange Koi was split between a thriving small donor bin and a weak long bin that was reinforced from the small colony.

Orange Koi
The small container was one of the healthiest colonies; the long container had no visible live isopods before being reinforced from the thriving small bin.
Small bin: one of the healthiest colonies.
Watch the rebuilt long bin for visible activity while protecting the small bin as the donor colony.
Laurarium culture
Dalmatian
Very moist and healthy with many tiny juveniles and visible springtails.
Healthy batch.
Maintain the moisture gradient and continue normal feeding.
Laurarium culture
Zebra Isopod
Healthy with good moisture, adults plus babies, and visible springtails.
Healthy with babies and springtails.
Maintain current moisture and feeding routine.
Laurarium culture
Magic Potion
The long bin was below its former strength; the small bin was dry and only sustaining a few adults.
Below previous strength.
Restore moisture in the small bin and verify whether visible numbers improve at the next check.
Laurarium culture
Marina Mermaid Mix
Very healthy with a strong visible population and balanced moisture.
Very healthy.
Maintain the current moisture balance and feeding routine.
Laurarium culture
Panda King
The long bin was very dry but still had babies; the small bin was surviving but only doing okay.
Sustaining, but moisture needs attention.
Correct dryness and watch the juvenile cohort for continued growth.
Laurarium house mix
Paisley’s Mix
Babies and springtails were present, but the mix was very dry.
Very dry with babies and springtails.
Restore moisture while preserving the visible juvenile and springtail activity.
Laurarium culture
Flowery Blue
The colony was starting to bloom, with a very large number of tiny isopods and springtails visible.
Starting to bloom.
Maintain the current routine and track the juvenile wave into the next check.
Laurarium culture
Laevis Mix
Active with several large isopods; sellable.
Sustaining.
Bring moisture up slightly and watch for juvenile growth.
Laurarium culture
Citrus
Both containers were very healthy, with large numbers of juveniles and springtails.
Small bin: “million little guys.”
Maintain the successful moisture and feeding pattern and document continued juvenile growth.
Laurarium culture
Red Panda
The long bin was moist and sustaining; the small bin was dry but doing very well.
Small bin doing very well.
Protect the strong small-bin population while keeping both bins inside a safer moisture range.
Laurarium culture
Dairy Cow
Very active and healthy with many juveniles, although the container was dry.
Very active, healthy colony with many juveniles.
Correct dryness without disrupting the strong juvenile activity.
Laurarium culture
Red Tiger
No isopods were seen in the long bin and only about one or two were seen in the small bin.
Priority verification needed.
Verify whether a viable population remains and inspect enclosure security because an earlier escape was possible.
Laurarium culture
Red Pak Chong
Only one isopod was seen; old food remained uneaten despite acceptable moisture.
One seen.
Verify the remaining population and reassess feeding response at the next check.
Laurarium culture
Papaya
Healthy but not thriving; the back of the enclosure was moist and food/water were present.
Healthy, not thriving.
Watch for stronger population growth while maintaining the current moisture zone.
Laurarium culture
Powder Pink
Very healthy with decent moisture and a visible group on the cork bark.
Very healthy.
Maintain moisture and continue routine observation.
Laurarium culture
